Brazil - Conchas Councilor Executed

"A councilor from Conchas, in the interior of São Paulo, was killed on Monday night (12) after participating in a session of the Chamber. A.d.M., 40, known as A.C. (PSB), was killed with several shots to the head when he arrived home, downtown.

It is not yet known whether the crime is politically motivated. No suspects had been identified as of Tuesday afternoon.

According to the mayor, councilor R.L. (MDB), the colleague left the session, which ended around 10 pm, and went home, downtown, when he was approached.

“He stopped the car at the door of his house, the person appeared and fired the shot. Everyone is in shock. It's a small city. It is very sad," said the MP.

The crime took place on São Paulo street and a security camera recorded the action. The images show the councilor outside the car, near the driver's door.

A man appears from a corner, says something to the victim, who hands over a small object he had in his hand without showing any reaction.

The criminal then shoots at point-blank range. The councilor falls and still receives shots in the back. No belongings would have been taken by the criminal."
