Re: Brazil - Chaotic Accident Scene
It's a question of luck, a friend of mine survived thanks to not wearing the seat belt. When his father reached the accident scene he concluded that his son had died, the vehicle was completely disintegrated, the crankshaft was found dozens of yards away from the impact. When he reached the red cross hospital he was greeted by his son who had just a few bruises but went out of the hospital walking as if nothing had happened. |

Re: Brazil - Chaotic Accident Scene
I did add the disclaimer "Might you die anyway? Possibly...but you're chances of surviving a crash increase exponentially if you are wearing a seatbelt." because someone always has the story of someone surviving because they weren't wearing one. It's not really about the luck, it's about the math. Every study ever done shows you're much more likely to survive or avoid serious injury with a seatbelt than without. For every 5 out of 1,000 who survived because they weren't wearing one, there are 500 who survived because they were. |
