On 11th January 2021 in Macapá (Brazil), 4 people lost their lives in a road accident. 3 men + a woman were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a lorry. The driver of the lorry survived, as did the only car passenger who was wearing a seatbelt.

I had a girlfriend once who, when she was a child, her father was in an accident where his car flipped multiple times. He wasn't wearing his seatbelt but he was pinned to the floorboard and fortunately survived. He was supposedly told that had he been wearing his seatbelt, it would have decapitated him. She never wears a seatbelt because of this . She might show up on here one day.

So both her and her bf didn’t bother wearing seatbelts. Of course that meant I’d never ever get in their car. And when they were in mine, thankfully the alarm would sound loudly and continuously until the seatbelts were on. But wow. I thought this kind of person thinking like my friend and her bf were the only ones. But I remember my little sister was in a car crash and her bf wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and bashed his head on the dash pretty badly, he had to stay in hospital. Can’t remember if the car had airbags. And my sister had seatbelt...idk what it’s called...like a seatbelt burn o”across her chest. But it saved her from bashing her head too. |

A friend of mine was in an accident on a city highway, the car was virtually "disassembled" on impact, the crank shaft ended up dozens of feet away from the point of impact, the engine was completely torn into little pieces, he was wearing his set belt but because the car was torn to pieces he was ejected, when his father arrived at the site of the accident and saw the car in little parts disseminated all over the road he realized his son had died. But to his surprise he had been transported in a red cross ambulance and was at the Red Cross hospital being checked... of his minor injuries, after he was treated he went home along his father, virtually unscathed! When I asked him how he managed to end up with insignificant injuries he said that it happened so fast that at one moment he was inside the car and the next he was outside his car flying through the air but didn't know how he fell to the ground so as to not break any bones or have any significant skin damage. |
