Re: Boxer Dies in the Ring

Its stupid to mount from that high, what did he expect?? That's the counter for that move or peel off the choke
I completely agree, it’s been many years since I sparred and trained and I know I made a few daft decisions then (which bloody hurt), I wouldn’t expect a slam like that ... that was brutal. I may be wrong, but that slam seemed to be driven by anger.. on the contrary, not sure what he expected the counter move to be when you put yourself there

It’s a tragic outcome for both really .. ..

Re: Boxer Dies in the Ring

That was a pretty hard slam. But I don't know if it's the usual idea in this move to push the other guy's head back so it's impossible for him to prevent his head getting slammed against the floor. Probably if you wanted to kill the other guy.

You go in there to win, the health of your opponent isn't important.

Re: Boxer Dies in the Ring

What we thinking? broken neck? brain damage? severe seizure? Someone with human body knowledge please tell me :D

(Yes he had his head slammed but what would have happened to his head/neck whatever)
He appears to be posturing as soon as he hit the ground which could suggest severe damage to the brain stem. It looks like his shoulders prevented him from landing directly on his neck, but that force was shared with the back of his head, and unfortunately for this guy, it doesnt take much force to turn someone into asparagus or even kill someone like that.

This guy was probably pretty well fucked immediately after landing, but the ringmen didn't do him any favors by putting him into a "recovery pose" and making him do yoga when a neck/spinal injury is highly likely. They probably just freaked when he started seizing and didnt want him to swallow his tongue (which is impossible, unless of course, you cut it out first).

----

And I love you Simone, but these guys aren't boxers, this is MMA. I wont hold it agaisnt you tho because they are technically fighting in a boxing ring.
Good video nonetheless! Thanks.

Re: Boxer Dies in the Ring

It seems like a broken neck? What I want to know is why there was a woman in the audience. Does she have no ovaries does she have no compassion does she have no protectiveness for young men? Sad.

Popped his brain stem and broken neck, I think.

Re: Boxer Dies in the Ring

I know it's common, but think dying at work is just the shittiest (*sp?) thing. Hopefully it was something he loved, too. Rip
