Re: Bondi, Sydney - Mass Shooting
Just like the Irish, they come to our brilliant USA to flee their own tater famine stupidity and establish Tammany Hall and promote communism. Then one Irish man Ronald Reagan comes along and cleans up some of the messes created by other Irish and everyone thinks hes a hero.

Re: Bondi, Sydney - Mass Shooting
Yes but it appears that once he got the weapon, he was done (understandably) and the shooter was able to retreat to the other shooter, get a gun and get back in the fight. It's frustrating but probably immaterial because the shooters were by then staying on that pedestrian bridge and trying to keep the cops back. I imagine the people they killed were all people who didn't know what was going on. 100% cowards. It's frustrating that the cops didn't just have to deal with the shooters but then also had to fight with a bunch of yobbo heroes who showed up once it was safe enough for them. I assume the stand off was ended by police with rifles and better cover. I didn't see any special response police. But jeez our policewomen show plenty of guts don't they. Respect. |

Re: Bondi, Sydney - Mass Shooting
Well the common factor is the sex of the attacker. Saying the problem is males using violence is hard to argue with. I would like to see boys getting guidance on how to deal with all the traumas, situations, emotions that we see in killings and other violence. And we also need to proactively educate parents that raising children with emotional self management is a key part of their health. And we need to change the culture so going to get help before you are violent is seen as being a good man. |

Re: Bondi, Sydney - Mass Shooting
Not absolute cinema, but Cinéma vérité Cinéma_vérité ('truth cinema' or 'truthful cinema') is a style of documentary filmmaking developed by Edgar Morin and Jean Rouch, inspired by Dziga Vertov's theory about Kino ... People also ask What does cinéma vérité mean? AI Overview Cinema vérité (French for "cinema truth") is a style of documentary filmmaking aiming for raw, unfiltered reality by using handheld cameras, natural sound/lighting, minimal staging, and unscripted moments to reveal authentic life and the filmmaker's impact on it, unlike traditional cinema's polished illusion. It emerged in the 1960s, influenced by Soviet kinopravda and Italian Neorealism, challenging conventions by letting stories unfold spontaneously and often finding narratives in the editing room from extensive footage. Key Characteristics Immediacy: Uses lightweight cameras and portable sound for on-the-go filming, creating a "fly-on-the-wall" feel. Spontaneity: Relies on real people, unscripted dialogue, and events as they happen, rather than staged scenes. Filmmaker Involvement: The camera crew's presence and questions can influence events, making them part of the story, a key aspect of its "truth". Editing: Often uses jump cuts and unconventional editing to find meaning, revealing the story rather than imposing one. Authenticity: Embraces contradictions, imperfections, and the changing nature of real life, rather than striving for a perfect, objective picture. Origins & Influence Coined by: French filmmakers Jean Rouch and Edgar Morin, inspired by Soviet kinopravda (film-truth). Examples: Chronicle of a Summer (Rouch & Morin) is a foundational French example, while its techniques influenced narrative films like The Blair Witch Project and shows like The Office.
