The perpetrators of mass shootings or stabbings in the past in Australia were Martin Bryant, Malcolm Baker, Wade Frankum, Paul Evers, Frank Vitkovic, Clifton Hill, Julian Knight etc.

Analysis of 14 mass shootings from 1964 to 2014 reveals consistent patterns among offenders.

All perpetrators were male, with a mean age of 32 years (range: 13–66). Most were Caucasian (one Aboriginal offender). Occupations varied widely, including farmers, mechanics, the unemployed, and pensioners.

About 50% had a confirmed or probable history of mental illness, such as depression, psychosis, or severe depression with psychotic features. Only 14% had documented prior contact with mental health professionals.

Nearly 70% were familicides.

How about going on a "crusade" for a better mental health care system, a better warning system in case of domestic violence as that can prevent way more killing than extremist nutcases, that always be there.


For the U.S. multiple reports note that in recent years, white supremacists and other right-wing extremists (who often claim to hold Christian, or at least White Nationalist, religious views) account for the vast majority of all domestic extremism-related murders in the U.S.

This is a brutal, random crime marked by treachery and utterly devoid of any justification. There is no doubt that the attackers were driven by revenge for the massacres being committed against Palestinians, who are being killed and displaced by the millions in the most horrific ways. However, confronting the occupation cannot be done through such methods, which violate Islamic teachings and also undermine the impact on public opinion that has begun to recognize the ugly face of the occupation.

We don't have stuff like this happen here. People would have been more concerned with helping or crying, than filming.

If someone films, they'd probably cop it or get a smack in the chops for being insensitive.

This scares me as I am several minorities. It makes you not want to go to cultural and other events celebrating minorities.

The last two mass killing have also happened at Bondi (also Bondijunction stabbings last year), so you won't catch me there.

If they had auto/semi auto weapons like that are legal in the US, this would have easily topped Port Arthur.

This also happened on the last terrorist attack to happen in Australia (Lindt cafe siege).

We are having a rise in white supremacy here atm and I really worry this is just going to add fuel to the fire.
