Colombia. Yesterday morning, Naín Andrés Pérez Toncel, known as Bendito Menor, and his romantic partner Rosa Angélica Tarazona, known as La Bebesita, and two of their bodyguards, all members of the ACSN, were killed during a tactical raid.

Just a day prior to the raid, a rumor put online by authorities claiming Bendito Menor, a high-profile commander of the ACSN had been killed by his own men.

In response, he fell into the intelligence trap by posting a video online to prove he was still alive. Colombian intelligence used that exact transmission to pinpoint his live location, leading immediately to the heavy tactical raid.

Bendito faced multiple arrest warrants for aggravated homicide, extortion and kidnapping. Rosa Tarazona was not just his partner but also managed finances, logistics and payments for the criminal structure. She had previously been arrested in 2025 but later fled house arrest to reunite with him in hiding.

The death of Bendito Menor leaves a vacuum in La Guajira, meaning the ACSN's primary focus will be appointing a successor to his front to defend their drug-trafficking corridors and extortion rings from their fierce territorial rivals, the Clan del Golfo's.

José Luis Pérez Villanueva (alias "Cholo") acts as the group's chief military commander. He has historically acted as one of the primary voices for the organization in public communications and past socio-legal peace exploratory talks.

The ACSN directly evolved from the Bloque Resistencia Tayrona, a faction of the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC) paramilitaries. The original faction was historically commanded by Hernán Giraldo Serna (known as "El Patrón" or "The Drill"), a notorious warlord.

Following the official nationwide AUC demobilization in 2006, residual elements, largely controlled by members of the Giraldo family clan, refused to abandon criminal activity. Now, the government will be running all the corruption. This was a blatant killing of the competition. I do not believe anything coming from the official propaganda of Colombian government sources. The country had some potential on the Caribbean side. However, due to its location, the government was making bank from the illegal trade. I remember seeing all the corrupted official patroling those waters. From my window, I saw just too much action in the water that did not make sense for the size of the marina. After taking possession of the freshly built place, I sold it because it was becoming too dangerous and expensive at the same time. The city is more of a local tourist crowd, and their marina was ok with American boats and prices to boot. My place was right in front of the marina, and it seemed like a good investment. After several murders by the government's death squads, I took my boat to the Dominican Republic. My place sold a year and a half after listing it. I have not been back to that country since. Colombia is no longer safe or affordable. The male tourists who often visit are playing with fire. I still do not understand why anyone would ever invest in such corrupted system.
