Autopsy report states the bullet entered under the left eye and exited the left side of the neck below the ear in a downward trajectory with a slight right-to-left angle.

So basically, while the brain and spinal cord were intact, the left carotid artery was struck. This says that rendering aid could have made a difference, and should have been performed. She likely died from a combination of blood loss and shock.
