The decapitated body of a middle-aged man was found tied to a tree with his hands bound. He was wearing trousers but no shirt, and there were hack marks on his chest. The severed head lay right beside the body's feet.

Using fingerprints, the deceased was identified as 44-year-old Kawsar Alam. He had left home in 2009 following a rift with his family over the purchase of a microbus. He did not return home even when his father died four years later.

Sometime around 2019, he once contacted his elder sister via mobile phone, informing her that he was living in the capital, Dhaka; claiming to have amassed significant assets there, he urged the entire family to move to the capital. After that, his family did not hear from him again. The motive behind the murder remains unclear.
