Re: Bodies Of Afghans Who Fell From Plane

Why is he wrapping that guys head up like he's still alive?
Wrapping it like that to close the jaw I believe. They also tied his wrists together. If you've watched or looked at funeral pic/vids from other countries, they wrap the dead person head like this.

Re: Bodies Of Afghans Who Fell From Plane

Very interesting how 2 of these guys are pretty much intact. While the other one got so much damage to his body.
I expected them all to look like they exploded.
And the way those 2 ended up looking like conjoined twins in death, their brains connecting, .

Re: Bodies Of Afghans Who Fell From Plane

Sorry, but if they were REALLY scared of oppression, maybe they should have fought harder for their country.
Everyone is blaming Biden for this, when it has NOTHING to do with him at all. The entire country folded up in 1 week.
That shows how good things were going, which is to say, not good at all.
I am just sorry we spent so many lives and so much money on such a stupid effort.
The Afghans are getting the new government they deserve. I hope they like it.
And to think, this type of oppression and inhumanity is what Trump supporters and the Republican party will eventually do to America. A failed coup attempt is only a practice for an eventual successful coup. I have no doubt they are planning another attempt as I write this. I'm already hearing on media that 2022 will be a blood bath, of sorts. Republicans have already demonstrated their willingness to tear down this country. The election laws are already being rewritten in red states. When a political party no longer has a platform to run on, it's only strategy is lying, cheating, keep the lawsuits flowing through the courts and appeal, appeal, and appeal court decisions that are not to the parties liking. That's exactly what Roy Cohn taught Trump and Trump has passed that exercise on to the Republicans. Fasten your seat belts because hard times are coming. it's not the general population of economically poor Afghans fault. It's the leaders of Afghanistan that are to blame, not the people themselves.

Maybe they've never seen or been around airplanes and dont understsand that happens if you try to hold onto one. Like when I was 5 and jumped off a tree holding an umbrella thinking it would slow my fall.
The Afghan people are desperate, not stupid. I suppose people get like this when the ruling party takes to beheading it's citizens for the sake of Allah.

Re: Bodies Of Afghans Who Fell From Plane

I'm not 100% certain, but I think it's part of the Islamic tradition when dealing with the dead. Transport, washing, shrouding, and burial can be quite involved, and this type of wrapping may be simple aesthetics.

Namely, it helps to keep the mouth from opening, and also can help to obscure trauma to the body.

In many western cultures, a similar thing is performed by morticians using sutures to keep the mouth closed. In conservative Muslim and Jewish traditions, the time between death and burial tends to be quick, so it's a quick fix for them.
I worked in hospice care and part of the post-mortem care is to apply this type binding. When rigor mortise sets in, the facial muscles become stiff.

Re: Bodies Of Afghans Who Fell From Plane

I dunno about Russia, they tried that 42 years ago and it didn't work out too well for them.
Because Rambo helped the Afgans back then.

Re: Bodies Of Afghans Who Fell From Plane

Why is the guy videoing running and puffing like a steam train?
It’s not as though they are likely to get up and run away!
