Re: The Beheading Of American Eugene Armstrong *Killed By al-Zarqawi*
I agree that a country has the right to defend itself. But beheading hostages is not the same thing. Not to mention, a HUGE majority of the beheadings that occur are after the denial of ransom payment. Many of these Taliban related groups kidnap civilians in their own countries, and then behead them if their ransom demands are not met. The American government, as corrupt as it may be, does not behead ANYONE anymore, and they don't kill hostages that they capture. This is not matter of "my culture is = to your culture". Someone has to do something about this beheading shit that is going on. SO many people love to say "we should stop invading countries", well that might be true, but only for financial reasons. If there is a country that has a government that legalizes the molestation of children, then we have the right to invade and dismantle that government. The same goes for other violations to people's rights. America is definately the lesser of two evils... by far, and believe me, I hate ALL religions equally, but I have a special spot in my black heart for those religions that try to infiltrate politics and take over governments thereby forcing their religion on to ALL of the citizens in that country. It's just wrong. To pretend that the constant invasions of the middle east is simply "about oil" is very naiive and glosses over the huge problem of human rights violations carried out by gov't in middle east DAILY. Not that human rights violations don't occur in America. They do. But not routine beheadings, stonings, and ritual killings. |
