That couple just wanted to live a simple and harmonious life, enjoying each other's company. Then, in an amount of effort that is completely disproportionate to the suffering and misery that it will cause, all of it goes down the fucking toilet.

It's a strange analogy, but maybe if you had to actually do something strenuous to kill or harm your fellow man in this way, even that might have a modicum of respect...

But how much more so despicable is it that - on a complete and random whim, as random as say, what type of juice you wanted for breakfast on some morning, some punk runs into your business and destroys everything you ever worked for in a couple of seconds? Decades of struggling, now all for nothing.

I would certainly hope there is an afterlife in which such savages are punished - I know here in the states they impose multiple life sentences to show how much contempt they have for the criminal, but even "200 years" or "300 years" I feel like would not be enough time for some of these barbaric fuckers to learn their lesson.

Then again, I was a bartender at a stripclub. We had security. They didn’t do their job and an 18yr old with a gun got in. No surprise considering our clientele. 3 people shot(a miracle it wasn’t more), my brother in law murdered. No one shot was involved in the actual fight. All over the “what are you looking at” bs. Ironically the security guard working that night was arrested 2yr later after stabbing & almost decapitating a drunk customer he threw out. Same bar. Guy lived but had no papers so disappeared. State picked up the case and he only got 5yrs since they couldn’t find the victim. He was out in 3. Right after he gets out he’s visiting his cousin who’s doing security at another bar. There’s an argument at the door and his cousin is shot & killed. Crazy how death follows some people, or places.

The club I mentioned in the beginning also had an infamous murder. Two off duty cops beat a guy to death with a baseball bat. Unfortunately I have stories for days because I made bad choices in my early 20’s. The state actually seized the bar after Encore Casino was built. There were unpaid taxes, mob debts blah, blah, blah. The “buyers” money trail led to mob connections & police corruption so they demolished it because it was so infamous. I think I gave enough info for ya’ll to figure out the bar if you wanted.

We also had a dancer gruesomely murdered while I worked there, but the news said she worked at a different club. Stabbed her in her pelvis and gutted her up to her neck. Gorgeous, kind girl. Poor girl was from Brazil, which is another issue back then. Girls were being trafficked into our area heavy to work in the stripclubs undocumented. We got raided for that too.

Idk why I’m telling this story on this random post…I guess if there’s a group of people who would be interested it’s here. Sometimes I forget how crazy my life was. Especially now that I’m a homebody who likes watching dog tiktoks & crocheting
