The guy THOUGHT they were using "rubber" bullets. What he didn't understand is that was the brand of regular ammo the cops were using.

Yes, a very pointless death.
Quota reform at his college? Is that what he gave his life for?

I think he actually believed that the rubber bullets were not going to hurt him, misunderstanding ‘less lethal’ to mean ‘not lethal’.
A grave mistake on his part, if that’s true.

Yes he was part of the Bangladesh quota reform movement. According to Reuters, as of July 20, the death toll is at least 114 martyrs

Sayeed was loved by everyone in the village due to his intellect and behaviour.
We just saw that

Miscreants are reportedly using ordinary students as shields while attacking, vandalizing, and setting fire to government and non-government establishments, according to a press release from the Home Ministry.
Hard for the police to know who's the student or miscreant in these kind of situations.
