Re: Backdraft of Semi Trailer Kills Battalion Fire Chief
That’s the hardest looking 35 year old I’ve ever seen. 17 years of experience and I’m supposed to feel badly for this moron?? Bye

Re: Backdraft of Semi Trailer Kills Battalion Fire Chief
Haven't read all of the other comments yet, so not sure if anyone else has said it, but this is something that should be shown at EVERY fire academy on the planet. Complacency like this is what gets firefighters killed. There was ZERO reason for him to go banging on the back doors and try to open them, until WELL AFTER the fire had been knocked down for a pretty significant amount of time. Admittedly, one typically only thinks about backdrafts in structure fires, but this shows how even something seemingly benign can flip the narrative in an instant. Also, his lack of wearing an SCBA (at least didn't look like he was) right next to a fire of unknown contents and of unknown origin (can't tell if any DOT placards are on the trailer) show a reckless disregard for every minute of training that he's every had. |
