Re: Backdraft of Semi Trailer Kills Battalion Fire Chief
This is the equivalent of an electrician sticking a fork in a live socket. He definitely knew better and was probably on autopilot. RIP bro |

That door with all that heat is pressurized... As soon as there was a breech, it flew open with great force.. Dude should have waited.. Being a battalion chief, he should have known that... Danger close, I understand, but be smart about it FFS.. |

Good thing is it was all over for him faster than his brain could process what was happening.

Re: Backdraft of Semi Trailer Kills Battalion Fire Chief
Whole - E - Shit indeed. I thought it was an incident that I had witnessed until I noticed the place and date - it was so similar. I drove past a truck that was on fire on the opposite side of the road from me, prior to the arrival of the fire fighting apparatus or cops to block off the road. The fire was just getting going when I drove past.

Re: Backdraft of Semi Trailer Kills Battalion Fire Chief
A backdraft, or smoke explosion, is that chaotic moment when the superheated gases in a fire decide to throw a wild party, igniting with a ferocity that could make a hellhound blush. It happens when oxygen crashes the scene, rushing into a hot, oxygen-depleted space—like when you kick open a door or shatter a window. Suddenly, you’re greeted with a violent blast of smoke and flames erupting from the building, a fiery exclamation that screams, “Welcome to the inferno!” Now, about that other guy’s question—shouldn’t firefighters know better than to tempt fate like this? Hell yes! These brave souls are trained to read the signs of impending doom. They know that opening a door can unleash a beast that’s been waiting to pounce. Ignoring that knowledge is like playing Russian roulette with a loaded gun. So, they better be on their toes, because in the world of fire, ignorance is a death sentence |
