Re: Another Sword Beheading

Thats WTF Im talking about!!!!! That dude didnt feel SHIT
Not true. He would be conscious when his face smashed off of the ground. Probably broke his nose. Plus, he'd still feel the pain in the neck until losing consciousness.

Re: Another Sword Beheading

All of you are wrong about being alive for 10-15 seconds after decapitation.

First of all, a properly executed choke hold will cause unconciousness in just a few seconds... as quick as 2-3 seconds. All that does is stops blood flow to the brain. Imagine stopping blood flow, as well as flushing ALL the blood out of the brain dropping blood pressure to essentially zero. The person is out in just a second or two AT MOST. Factor in shock, and a high possibility of trauma the occipital condyle and occipital bone causing trauma to the brain stem and you've got a formula for near instant death.

Don't kid yourselves... it's common sense. If a chokehold can knock a person out in 3 seconds, how in god's green fuck could decapitation be "more survivable" than that? Jesus.

Re: Another Sword Beheading

i think i'm just goign to agree with everyone else and say thats the proper way to behead someone, not to mention this brings back a memory of the way the samurai killed their enemies; with honor
That's not quite correct, an "honorable" samurai would allow his opponent to commit "seppuku" where the defeated would use his own short sword to disembowl himself... Actual beheading by the samurai was usually only conducted on criminals when he wanted to tests a swordsmith's ability to make a sword. Not only beheadings but there was a whole array of specific cuts and amputations a sword had to make to be deemed worthy of use...

A properly executed choke hold is so effective NOT because of starving the brain of blood and decreasing pressure but the exact opposite...

The 2 most common arteries that people are aware off are the carotid arteries, which we feel on the side of the neck that don't infact feed any blood to the brain, they feed our faces... there are 4 other arteries that deliver blood to the brain, 2 are internal of the spinal column and 2 are adjacent the spinal column leading up under our ears. So even though, when you choke somebody, you think your cutting off the blood supply to the brain, your not, however, you are cutting off the circulation, e.g. the return of the blood from the brain which results in hyperemia, too much pressure which the brain registers and immediately begins to shut down non-essential functions, such as conciousness until the situation is rectified...

The reverse of this is known as ischemia, or too little blood flow to the brain which results in an ischemic cascade, a process the brain uses to maximise efficiency of the available nutrients and oxygen available until the problem is rectified

In the case of a choke hold (hyperemia) the brain wants to shut down

In the case of a beheading (ischemia) the brain tries to maximise it's functioning while it still can...

Mix this with the fact that most beheading victims realise their going to die and have an extremely elevated heart rate, increasing available nutrients to the brain. At the point of dicapitation, there is excess nutrients in and around the brain tissue to sustain conciousness anywhere from 6-7 or up to 20-25 seconds depending on alot of factors such as the persons health at the time, their actual heart rate, panic state, shock, other injuries and blood loss sustained?

Next time, think twice before typing anything and proving just how starved of oxygen your brain clearly is...
