Re: American Forth of Joo-ly

C’mon man all those officers know damn well 90 shots is so far and beyond what’s needed in this situation. I didn’t really see a gun the perp had on him. I might have missed it. That’s some classic Columbia or brazil type overkill we got shit ton of on this site

Re: American Forth of Joo-ly

You have a good point. There were alot of officers in persuit. I find it hard to fault the officers for the action upto the first shot.

However, they were firing for about 8 seconds... If you've ever been in a firefight, then you know... That's a LONG TIME!! To put that into context the suspect was limp and on the ground within the first second and half, and for 6 to 7 more seconds each of the 8 officers needs to basically mag dump to equal anything close to the 100 rounds fired (To be fair they need to fire about 12 rounds each).

Like I mentioned above, I cannot reasonably find fault in the first shot or the utilizing of deadly force (even though I still fail to see where any officer was able to achieve the threshold of deadly action - firing a gun at the officers- or deadly intent - pointing a gun at an officer- from the suspect). The actions of the officers have to measured with the totality of the the circumstances. This means taking into account they suspected they were chasing an armed suspect, you must give more leniency to the officer when considering their determination on the use of deadly force.

This point is easier to put into perspective. Fear is a powerful motivating factor. It is not unreasonable to believe that the suspect may have been scared of police (for whatever reason you wish to apply). If it's hard to grasp the concept that fear can prevent people from thinking clearly, just look at how half of the United States continues to blame our current president and the other half blame the former president for the countries skyrocketing inflation... But if you look at the issue objectively you will notice that almost every developed nation in the world is experiencing inflation, not just us. Many inflation rates are high than ours... So which president (who get the blame) created the crazy inflation in those countries..? Fear clouds judgment. I find perfectly reasonable that any gender, race, be guilty or innocent could be fearful of dying at the hands of a tired, scared, or frustrated police officer. They see it in the news ALL THE TIME.
You've made some good points. And it's refreshing to see someone respond and dialog without name calling and insults.

The amount of time they spent firing is an interesting topic. I don't know what the police are taught. Common sense says you stop any response, whether it's a gun, tazer, physical restraint when the threat appears to be neutralized, and if the cop doesn't, then their actions get called into question. The dickhead who kneeled on the guy's neck for 9 minutes is the perfect example.

You also made a good point about the fear response, and it's sensible to assume that varies person to person. I've never been in a position like that (I've had physical confrontations with people as a young man, never a cop) and a couple of those I put my dukes up and one I ran like hell.
I guess the point I was trying to make is we've seen enough of citizen vs cop to know, if you have your shit together at all, comply and live another day.

I can't tell if the "flash" on the driver's side was a gun shot or a f-ing cigarette being thrown out the window. The gun shot sparks seemed to be slow burning... Like ashes... Muzzle flashes from a Glock don't really produce sparks like that... It's just a quick flash. Don't believe me.. Just YouTube it.

Source: Glock .45 owner
Nobody refers to it as a "glock .45" unless they never go shooting with it.

I'm pretty sure I call my 9mm glock a glock 17, not a glock 9., and my 10mm glock a glock 20, not a glock 10.

If youve ever used range ammo for fun, some of it puts out unburnt powder in long streaks, and some of those off-brand self defense rounds really pack powder in for purposes of increasing pressure with lower quality or improper powder mix.

This shows me that you probably don't use your .45 caliber glock very often, or else you wouldn't say such debunkable things.

Re: American Forth of Joo-ly

It's mandatory to shoot a human being 100 times to make sure is dead? Seems like a literal overkill

Re: American Forth of Joo-ly

C'mon. Disobeys traffic stop, shoots at cops, bales car and runs from cops. This is a felon, not a victim.
Exactly!

Re: American Forth of Joo-ly

No one else here is an Akronite from the Buckeye state? I remember when Akron, my home town, boasted being the rubber capital of the world. But not because of trojans and obviously not because the police used rubber bullets. Akron is a good place to be from. Far from.
