From the video sure looks like he *quickly* pulled a pistol out of his waistband. If it wasn't a pistol he was either a damned fool or wanted to fake it and get shot.

Can you imagine? You wake from a haze under your bus shelter home to a swat team pointing assault rifles on you commanding you to get on your stomach. That is wild. I would have probably said the same thing if I was him.

I am not sure about the story behind this, so I don't know for sure, but this seems like a pretty good example of police brutality because of the over-militarization of the police force.

Really is weird this is was not all over the news that police brutality is such a hot button issue these days.

I remember this video.

The dude had a bb gun in his waist band. People called police because he was waiving it around or something.

The cops could have VERY easily gone up to him and placed him under arrest while he was asleep. They chose not to, and the guy that just awoke was killed. Clearly confused. Whether that be from mental issues or just waking up... we'll never know.

I always thought it was interesting how the shots went out. 1st shot is a direct hit on the bb gun and you can see him move his hand away quickly.. the 2nd or 3rd (hard to tell) was a kill shot to the dome.

Very avoidable situation. This wasn't handled like it should have been.

Sure if you're a TV cop with a contract for next season you can do that mcgyver crap sneaking up on someone and sticking a bag over their head in the real world you actually can be killed by some lunatic with a pistol at bus stop and you put your safety first standing off giving commands letting them wake up if they are actually asleep and hopefully follow your verbal commands as per your training and department policies.

Only a damn fool would try to wrestle a pistol from a lunatic if they have a rifle and can control them from a distance that is how you live to see another day. Yeah maybe 90% chance they could have "jumped him" 10% one of them got shot in the belly 100% he would sue for being jumped and not given the opportunity to surrender.

Only in America, do people ever say "fuck you" to a bunch of armed police pointing automatic weapons at them. In other countries people just do what the police say and not get shot.
