The Agony and the Ecstasy was a crappy movie. Charlton Heston really phoned it in. He was better in Planet of the Apes. Now there’s a great film.

Heston had a track record of phoning it in from time to time, in fact he sort of bragged about having a lunchpail attitude on some projects when he was just in it for the paycheck. But, I do agree he was amazing in POTA. Heston also make a pain in the ass out of himself with his politics and constant NRA rants. Johnny Carson, someone who avoided politics (Jimmy Kimmel, are you listening?) was a friend of Heston but told him at one point he wasn't going to have him on the show anymore if Heston didn't tone it down. OK.. tell me to shut up and take it to the water cooler. |
