Re: Aftermath - Brazilian Biker's Neck Was Slit by Kite Line
I'm not sure which particular hockey skate accident you are referring to, there's been a few different ones over the years but the one that really stood out to me was the one in the late 1980s NHL game when goalie Clint Malarchuk of the Buffalo Sabres had his jugular vein in his neck cut by a skate blade. Malarchuk started bleeding ferociously onto the ice. The arena was shocked at seeing the amount of blood guzzling from the goalies neck. 12 fans passed out at the sight of all the blood, 2 fans had heart attacks as Malarchuk bleed, 3 players were throwing up on the ice and countless others fans in the stands were puking all over as well. Amazingly Malarchuk's life was saved due to quick action by Buffalo's athletic trainer, Jim Pizzutelli, a former US Army combat medic who had served in the Vietnam War. He gripped Malarchuk's neck and pinched off the blood vessels, not letting go until doctors arrived to begin stabilizing the wound. Malarchuk ended up losing 1.6 Litres of blood and it took over 300 stitches to close the wound in Malarchuks neck |

I remember seeing this video, and I must say, that man had some seriously bad luck with something striking from above. it sort of gives me that one man who was killed by a flying cow vibes.
