Why didn't they just radio in more backup/men? Or even a swat team to neautralize/secure him, with non-deadly force, while the on-scene officers kept him located in the shower, without the possibility of Adam grabbing a weapon, until they arrived? He needed help, not death! Incidently, the authorities tranquilizer wild and dangerous predators, i.e. bears, cougers,etc. before they relocate them...why not psychotic people?!

Upon arrival, paramedics administered sedatives, ketamine and midazolam, which was cited in the medical examiner’s report, and Trammell stopped breathing and lost his pulse by the time he was put into an ambulance. He died soon after arriving at the hospital.

The medical examiner’s report revealed Trammell suffered a black eye, broken rib and a multitude of bruises and cuts. While his cause of death was not directly attributed to being tased, it was listed as a contributing factor.

The official cause of death was listed as “excited delirium,” a condition which isn’t recognized by the American Medical Association or American Psychological Association, but is instead described by the Journal Sentinel as “a controversial condition often cited when police use force.”

a neighbor called police because Trammell, who had knocked on her door, was naked in the hallway, talking about the devil and his brother. She feared he was experiencing a psychotic break.

Trammell had not threatened anyone or brandished a weapon. When police arrived, a neighbor told them she feared he might harm himself. Trammell’s downstairs neighbor told them water was leaking through the ceiling from his apartment.

Rather than waiting for 25 minutes for someone to arrive with a key, police broke down the door and walked through the apartment to the bathroom, where they found Trammell taking a shower, drinking from a jug of water.

When the officers spoke to Trammell, he stared at them and did not reply.


They should have waited for someone that is trained in situations involving psychotic people instead of busting the door and repeatedly tasering him. He was no threat to anyone.

They tased him out of convenience/laziness because they didn't want to go hands-on with a naked man. They should have been fired and charged. The medical examiner is just covering for the system that signs his checks.

Shame that the neighbour didn't think of calling a relative or friend of the boy, or even a doctor. These officers killed the boy + should be punished. He didn't get a bloody chance to comply with his orders. They had him cornered + unarmed, they could have easily got him cuffed + treated him like a human being. Now he's dead because of these incompetent fuckers.
