A traffic accident involving a truck and a motorcycle resulted in the death of one person on Thursday afternoon (April 9) on Mário Covas Highway, near Avenida Independência, in Ananindeua, Greater Belém. According to authorities, the motorcycle driver, whose name has not been released, died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released official information about the accident.

Videos of the incident have been shared on social media. In one video, an amateur filmer comments that the motorcyclist allegedly fell on the road and a truck, which was following directly behind him, ran over the victim, crushing him. "The accident happened here. He fell and the truck ran over him. On the Mário Covas overpass," he said.
