**** Rapids is a middle and lower middle class suburb on the northern edge of Minneapolis. A rather boring, non-descript suburb that was built in the late 60’s when people started leaving the inner city and moving to the safer and more family-like outer ring suburbs. Houses were very affordable out that way and it grew quickly. A crime like this is practically unheard of up there, even today. I remember hearing about this when it happened over a year ago but never knew how brutal it was until I saw this video. There are two very young toddlers in this video who are playing at the moment their parents are murdered - right in front of them. They know something terrible has happened and they freak out. The killers spared their lives but if you haven’t watched this yet, I highly recommend avoiding it or preparing yourself for a horrific experience involving children and heartless killers. Most of us have pretty thick skin or we wouldn’t be here, but this one will probably be an unsettling view. The victims were low level drug dealers so after robbing them, there was no real reason to kill them in front of their children. (They even killed the family dog) Not likely the victims would go to the police so why kill them? They didn’t resist in any way but were shot pleading with the shooters to take their money and go. This is a tough watch. The whole house had cameras installed so you feel like you’re right there as it happens. Really awful stuff. The wife is crying and begging for her life which earned her a quick shot to the head, with her toddler standing two feet away screaming and crying “mommy, mommy!” Then the cowardly husband makes a run for it out the kitchen door but is chased down and immediately wounded with one shot. A few seconds later, realizing he was still alive, he was finished off with a second head shot. It’s surreal to watch, as it all happens in a messy but fairly nice middle class suburban home. Not a ghetto house or neighborhood by any means. It’s disturbing. You’ve been warned.
