My truck never has lights on when it is parked in any jurisdiction.

Re: 3 People on a Bike Slam into a Parked Utility Truck and Died

I think that would just be combobulated?
Yes, you are correct. Combobulated would be if everything was fine. My version would be a double negative, making it a positive.

I guess it is like "antidisestablishmentarians". What exactly do they mean?

Now I am flummoxed!

I doubt there would be a local ordinance requiring a wheeled conveyance of any variety to keep its lights on when it is parked and unattended. Can you tell me if such a moronic and retarded law like that exists ANYWHERE and then we can start debating whether or not such a thing exists in this place nobody even gives a fraction of a fuck about?

I am autistic and I am not even that fucking literal.

It is a requirement that there be some type of “reflector(s)” on the rear of any motor vehicle and not necessarily an active taillight when the vehicle is not moving. Just sayin ~

Reflector Requirements for Motor Vehicles
General Mounting Requirements
Reflex reflectors must be securely mounted on a rigid part of the vehicle.
They should be positioned at a height of at least 381 mm (15 inches) above the road surface, unless impractical.
Temporary reflectors on projecting loads must be securely attached to the load.
Specifications for Reflex Reflectors
All reflex reflectors on vehicles manufactured after December 25, 1968, must comply with FMVSS No. 108 standards.
Reflex reflectors on projecting loads and certain trailers have specific exceptions.
Reflective materials can be used instead of traditional reflex reflectors if they meet performance standards.
Additional Retroreflective Surfaces
Additional retroreflective surfaces may be used alongside required reflex reflectors.
These surfaces must not resemble traffic control signs and should be at least 3 inches away from any required lamp or reflector.
No red color is allowed on the front of any motor vehicle, except for specific markings.

These requirements ensure that motor vehicles are visible and safe on the road, particularly in low-light conditions.

Re: 3 People on a Bike Slam into a Parked Utility Truck and Died

Alright Professor Pedantic, when someone has more than basic brain function, they can figure out that "car" = "vehicle of any design or description."
Whatever your problem is ... it is just that, your problem. Not mine. So lose the attitude.

The Oxford English Dictionary in front of me lists six meanings for the word "car".

#1 is basically the meaning you refer to. According to the Dictionary that meaning is from late middle English (1350-1469) and is rare in English today.

Meaning #6 is "A usually four-wheeled motorized vehicle for use on roads, able to carry a small number of people". That meaning originates from the late 19th century (1870-1899).

Given that I have more than basic brain function (well, at least enough to hold a Masters degree) I can read a dictionary and understand that words often have multiple meanings.

That is why my response to you clarified that I was referring specifically to trucks. That clarification does not justify your over-the-top abusive and ridiculous response.

I don't care in the slightest what you do or don't "doubt" and I don't see why I would enter into a debate with you that is based on the fact that you are both uninformed and sufficiently arrogant to believe that something that you do not personally know cannot possibly be correct.

I think you need to develop sufficient self-awareness to realise that ridiculous abusive rants like that reflect much more poorly on yourself than anyone else.

Re: 3 People on a Bike Slam into a Parked Utility Truck and Died

From what I gather from previous incidents on DR and that area of the world they have very LAX regulations. The truck looks to be “parked “ in the roadway. Warning devices, reflectors, lights, signaling device should have been activated. Being it was in a foreign country with virtually no safety regulations the only conclusion for fault can be stated simply as no one was at fault. Just an accident and no big deal.

I think the error code would have been DEAD BEEF, which I would like to point out is perfectly valid 32 bit hexadecimal value.

(Its not that I am nonbinary, but there's no 2 bit humour here!)

Not only "unscathed", but "unruffled", as well.

Also "unperturbed".

And additionally, "Undiscombobulated".

And "Unflustered", too!

It was probably "unregistered" too.
