I'm thinking even if they weren't traveling at ludicrous speeds, that impaled dude could have been in front and had the weight of 510ish pounds (3, 175lb men), traveling at 45mph that weight, if it smacked a reinforced brick wall is equivalent of 516375 ft/lbs. 516,375 ft/lbs on a 28.27 sq/in object (6" diameter pole) is roughly 18,264 psi (pounds per inch) I'm fairly certain the human body can't take that force from a solid pole like that and not poke out the other side, sharp or not. And that's just the impact force of three men on that pole not including the weight of the bike if that helped drag the pole thru him as well. |
