Re: 3 Insurgents Publicly Executed in Iranian Marketplace
You may think I'm wrong but this is how the justice system should operate-swift & harsh-for all to see. Bet whatever these guys did, it doesn't happen that often. It's the only way you keep folks in line because prison is designed only to make the offender worse when you look closer.

Just a thought, maybe hard crime should be done away with permanently, you commit a felony like homocide your executed. People want freedom? Rights? Then no more crime. This wouldn't be a problem for law abiding sane people.

Re: 3 Insurgents Publicly Executed in Iranian Marketplace
It becomes a problem for law-abiding, sane people when the justice system itself is so corrupt, as it is in the US. Both the law enforcement and the judiciary (prosecution/DA) are under immense pressure to 'solve' crimes or risk losing their jobs, careers, or chance at promotion. This often prompts both branches to 'cut corners' and insure that crimes are answered for before public backlash ensues. So long as our legal system cares more for appeasing the weak-willed public and keeping their own numbers up to par, it is impossible to advocate immediate capital punishment instead of hard time. Unless you're even more sociopathic than the criminals you claim to hate, you would never willingly consent to risk putting an innocent man's blood on your conscience. Every year now in the US -every year- DOZENS of inmates are being freed from prison sentences (sometimes on death row) that they have been serving for many years as DNA evidence is proving them completely innocent time and time again. So long as our country is littered with dirty cops, dirty DAs, and dirty judges, it is grossly irresponsible to advocate capital punishment at all, let alone as a complete replacement for hard time. |
