Re: 3 Friends Record Themselves Drowning In Pond

How on earth is it possible that you drown like that? That water had absolutely no current? If that is correct I am at a complete loss of words on how is it your not able to paddle your feet to keep your head above water. You shouldn't need swimming lessons to figure that out, right? Or do you need someone to educate you that your body floats just a frog paddle is all you need to move around in the water?
When you're dumb enough, you can do anything!

Re: 3 Friends Record Themselves Drowning In Pond

Regrettably, this list is nonsense based on poor methodology. The researchers concocted "estimates" for many of the countries listed by all sorts of different methods, none of them the same as the last, and none directly related to IQ testing. That's a problem. Allow me to give an example of what I mean:

John had 3 frogs and wanted to see which one could jump the highest, so he performed tests to determine estimates. He measured Froggy A's hind leg to body length ratio, and estimated, based on that factor, that Froggy A could jump 8 inches vertically. For Froggy B, John carefully tabulated the number of calories the frog ate per day and closely measured the distance it travelled, and arrived at an estimated jump maximum of 14 inches by measuring how much energy Froggy B's muscles consumed in various movements, and then calculating the potential torque Froggy B's muscles could produce and how far a mass with the volume and density of Froggy B's body could be moved by that torque at
a pressure of 1 atmosphere and a temperature of 295 Kelvin (an approximation of Froggy B's preferred physical environment). For his final estimated John procured a 54 cm science stick and poked Froggy C in the butt, and then measured how high he jumped, a height of 12.4 inches. John thus concluded Froggy B had the greatest jumping ability.

That's basically what went on with this study. For Equatorial Guinea, the lowest one, they literally went to a special home for mentally handicapped children in Spain that had several kids with Guinean parents, and built their estimate off those kids. It would be estimating the IQ of the average American by talking to all the kids on a short bus.
That's a lot of nonsense in one post. What actually happens is that Frog A lives in a stable environment of its own design, and has few children which it puts a lot of time and effort into. From B has no hope of ever stabilizing its own environment, and has to rely on r selection; Many offspring which reach maturity early on (look it up) and a children can easily be lost without any risk of eliminating the bloodline.

Frog A then decides to measure the intelligence of frogs. Frog B has has never actually managed to create or sustain a civilization, and so they're barely suited for a memory test regardless of their intelligence. Later on, Frog A must decide that all differences are superficial, and spend his entire life excusing away any such difference in ability or result or be branded a frogist.

This video is a bit odd to me, I can't swim properly but I can dog peddle, keeps me from dying.

They seemingly died so easily, I don't get it.

How hard is it to move your arms and legs to keep your head above water ? Just treading water is about the most simplest thing you can do. I don't get it.

Re: 3 Friends Record Themselves Drowning In Pond

My vote for eeriest video on DR.

1.3 billion - 3 = 1,299,999,997 people

SPOILER ALERT:

There is a surprise last gasp at 1:30 just when you thought this ordeal was over...
Yes the last gasp at the end was a nice touch. Kinda like horror movie when you think the baddie is dead and makes a final lunge

It's not ineptness that kills you, it's panic. Well in this case not just you.

Re: 3 Friends Record Themselves Drowning In Pond

Just as dumb as jumping out of plane without a parachute on. Idiots!
It really is.

I would really like to know what they were thinking prior to jumping in, did they think the water wasn´t as deep? And saying they were "poor swimmers" is an understatement they couldn´t swim AT ALL they were so close to land almost an arms reach and they couldn´t swim over there?

I'm sorry these men lost their lives, but, having said that. How the fuck do you not instinctively not know how to dog-peddle? Dumb motherfuckers.
