Re: 3 Friends Record Themselves Drowning In Pond
If you watch closely...when the first guy splashed the second guy alot... the large rock the guy was stepping on got very slick and even though he moved down just a touch...not intending to go in...he slipped on it because it was so wet and slid in. I don't think the guy who first went in intended to at all. TOO BAD |

Re: 3 Friends Record Themselves Drowning In Pond
Although not gory, quite possibly one of the worst videos I've seen. It's the desperation that does it.

Right? I mean, I guess I understand why they didn't just float (they're panicked, they're not used to swimming, etc) even though it's so simple even their dead bodies can do it. But each of them regain the surface a few times. I kept thinking, why don't you just do that again? It worked! Do it again! Except this time in the direction of the shore? |

Re: 3 Friends Record Themselves Drowning In Pond
Former lifeguard, CPR instructor (in college), and certified rescue diver here. If an adult too big to manhandle is in an open body of water and flailing like these poor bastards, a trained lifeguard can use the "nuclear option", metaphorically speaking. Basically, you swim up to them, take a deep breath, and when they grab you, you go ragdoll and let them pull you under the water. Because you are floating serenely and they are exhausting every muscle they have while their heart races, they will run out of air long before you. When they stop struggling and release their grip on you, you spring into action, pull them to shore, and set about getting the water out of their lungs before their frontal lobe starts dying. I would like to reiterate that you should never try this unless you are trained and very comfortable in the water. So many people drown trying to save others; you have to be prepared if you make an attempt. Otherwise, your best bet is to get a long stick and try to corral their corpse toward the shore, so resources aren't wasted looking for it. |

Re: 3 Friends Record Themselves Drowning In Pond
You guys all fail to understand the people that can't swim also can't hold their breath underwater... those guys had their lungs filled with water in like 5 seconds after they got under.. so they sank like bricks. |
