A 28-year-old analyst, a new mother suffering from health problems, committed suicide by jumping from the eleventh floor of her office on Thursday.

The victim, M Sravani, was the wife of Ramakrishna from Madinaguda in Miyapur. She was an analyst at PrimEra Medical Technologies, located on the 9th floor of Melange Tower, Madhapur. Ramakrishna works for a pharma company.

Sravani had married Ramakrishna one-andhalf-year ago and they have a fourmonth-old son. At 9.30 am on Thursday, Sravani left home to go to office.

At 10.13 am, she committed suicide by jumping from the eleventh floor of Melange Towers.

Sravani’s mother Easwaramma, who came from Chittoor to Sravani’s house on Thursday morning, said her daughter was suffering from health issues.

“I spoke to her in the morning and she left home saying she was going for work,” Easwaramma said.

In her statement to police, Easwaramma said Sravani was suffering from sinusitis, headaches and health issues since her delivery and they might be the reason for her suicide.

Police registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and shifted the body for an autopsy. They also recovered CCTV footage.

Another Indian jumper case.

A 14-year-old girl committed suicide by jumping from the eighth floor of a housing society in Kandivli (east) on Thursday evening.

The incident took place around 4.30pm in Orchid society in Thakur Village, said the Samta Nagar police, who have registered a case.

The deceased, Harshika Maivanshi, was a Class 9 student and lived in another building nearby, the police revealed. She gained access to the refuge area of the high-rise from where she jumped, even as several people spotted her on the edge and called out telling her not to jump.

Vinay Rathod, deputy commissioner of police, zone 12, said: “We don’t know why she took this extreme step. We have registered an accidental death report. We will investigate the case thoroughly.”

The suicide was recorded by a local resident on his mobile.

I have often observed how often female suicides choose to die in their bare feet. Here we see her (:12) consciously and deliberately remove her shoes before jumping to her death.
I wonder why that is? It's such an image of Lost Innocence.
