The error here is the either/or dichotomy you set up. It can easily be about both. Yes, mental illness is a serious issue - I know as I am as Aspie (Asperger's syndrome). It, and other conditions can easily be combined with selfishness.

So, I have some questions about this. Obviously, the speed of the video is faster than real time, but I'm curious how much faster? The reason being that he first cut off his oxygen with the rope at 0:23 and the rescue personelle came in at about 1:30. It seems like he hadn't been out long enough to be brain dead. I know that resuscitation isn't always successful, but it seems they would have had a good chance here. Anyways, just curious. Secondly, why did his face go white again after he passed out?
