Given all the information here-- it's cool if he kills himself as long as nothing important was really tied to him, as though his death would ignite world war III, or toss Earth out of orbit. To be honest, it could be a lesson both ways-- if you're strong, you'll live it out. If you say you're going to do something, fucking do it. May God take your soul, random guy from Sweden.

The kid was clearly not thinking clearly. In the early days of internet chat rooms we had these things called mods, and what they would do is keep things civil. Encouraging people to kill themselves rather than counsel them to get professional help would have got your ass kicked out of most places, and rightfully so. People think just because you're at a keyboard that you don't need to be socially responsible. The kid was disturbed, and no responsible adult was there to encourage him to do the right thing...yes, sad. Normally I don't find myself feeling such compassion, but I have been young, lonely, stupid, and affected by chemicals and chemical imbalances beyond my control, and I can only thank God that I managed to make it through somehow. This kid should not have died. No Darwin awards here, just the harsh reality of mental instability leading to tragedy. I wonder if those here with the cute comments about him being a loser who deserved it would say the same about their own relatives if they suffered the same mental issues and subsequent death. Yes, I felt bad for him- worse for his family. |
