Re: 2012 Shooting of Milton Hall
looks like a freaking firing squad! And it´s like when the first cop fires a shot the rest just think "oh well now we can too" |

Re: 2012 Shooting of Milton Hall
Do police in USA ever talk to people anymore or do they just order them to do something? Because everyone knows crazy people are easy to control...that's why they are crazy, right? So lets order him to do something and when he doesn't, lets all shoot him! Or...just keep your distance and take him down using something that doesn't involve killing him...not like any country in the world is capable of that though is it??? |

Re: 2012 Shooting of Milton Hall
That is literal policy. They shoot to kill every time. The idea being if they are trained to shoot to immobilize they might spend too much time thinking "ahh where should I shoot this person? SHould I shoot them in the head or the leg or even at all" and get shot. It's messed up but I see both sides of it. On the one hand, a man with a knife and training can kill or disable officer as long as hes within 20 feet (as demonstrated in police training all over the country, a knife fighter can stab you in the neck before you can even reach your holder if he's 5 feet away, at ten feet the cop still wont even have time to get the safety off on their weapon much less aim and shoot). On the other hand, most people armed with knives AREN'T trained fighters and won't do anything. And as for the officer thinking about "where should I shoot this guy, if at all"- I kinda think they should be thinking about that anyway. So it's tricky. In this situation I think it was wrong, a penknife can't do much damage unless the guy iss really lucky or really well trained. But after seeing how easy it is for officers to die in situations that seem to favor the officer, I kinda understand why they get trained to shoot first ask questions later. I don't AGREE with it, but I get it.
