thank you for your reply! I have taken your advice and searched on youtube for the "21 foot rule" as it is called and i am BLOWN AWAY! I see now why these cops fired as they were trained to do BUT i see one distinct difference, these cops that shot this suspect already had their firearms unholstered and aimed at him. So the 21Ft rule would not apply. How do you feel about that? I have looked and cant find an unholstered 21ft rule video. I feel with the weapon trained on the suspect, they had a distinct advantage and could pull the trigger in milliseconds. When you were almost cut up, did you have your weapon holstered or aimed at the perpetrator? BTW i dont have a hatred toward police in general, and i appreciate them putting life and limb in jeopardy every time they clock in, but i have been on the receiving end of small town politics and police work. Dont take my comments wrong please, and i appreciate your service, just like an armed services member sir. |

That's a great point, but I wish they were efficient enough to accomplish their objective using at most 10-15 rounds rather than 45 rounds. Ammo ain't cheap and most police departments don't have very healthy budgets. That stuff adds up.

It's true that this Trayvon Martin Ghetto Thug Urban Terrorist wasn't worth the ammo cost. But the officers' safety and that of the public was worth it. |

Seriously...a blind person could see this guy wasn't trying to surrender or cooperate with police. All he had to do what put the knife on the ground, put his hands up and he would have been taken into custody and more than likely alive to tell the story. Everyone wants to be Michael Brown now...

They become that way when that little cute kid in the picture became Dylan Klebold and showed up to school weilding a damn rifle and pickimg off his classmates and setting off bombs. When some strange dude decided to show up at a theater in full body armor and kill innocent people trying to watch a movie. When two guys decided to bomb the Boston Marathon. That's when. Stop acting like we aren't out here killing each other every day... |
But I can understand why you feel the way you do...it's just hard to explain how dangerous a situation that guy posed to the officers and the dog. Ideally, they should've had less lethal weapons, but in some areas they don't. Everyone should be responsible for their own actions...Mr. Hall was just fucked up...he made a series of very critical errors and paid the price. There is no guarantee that local police will react according to the script.
