Sorry but it sounds like your mom had a severe neurotic/paranoid obsessive compulsive disorder and turned you into a jumpy neurotic lunatic like her. I'm not making find of you, in fact, I find what you said very sad. Going against the flow of the traffic etc is smart, but physically stopping, every single time a truck approaches? Behaviour like that would have most people end up in a psych ward, or at least being treated for OCD or chronic neurosis. That is just....not......normal.
