Re: 2 Men Drowned in New York
That's the reason why he panicked and let go; he felt it pulling him away and rational thought went out of the window. He then let go of his float, panicked some more and it was game over. The under current dragged them both down and away. What a fucking terrifying stretch of water.

Re: 2 Men Drowned in New York
No matter the circumstances you must 1) keep your head about you, think through the problem 2) accept the problem and relax 3) use what is available to you to overcome the problem 4) never give yourself over to the thought that you can’t survive 5) the only time you give up your life for someone else is when they will survive |

Re: 2 Men Drowned in New York
panic makes you very stupid. I almost drown in water i could Stand in as a kid bc i inhaled a tiny bit of water while swimming and went ballistic. mind you i took swimming lessons as a toddler and took every opportunity to swim. knowing what to do doesn't matter for shit when panic takes over. people seriously underestimate how easy it is to drown. which is extra absurd to me on here because we see tons of videos of people drowning in like less than a minute, especially when there's more than one person in the water. like yeah it's kinda stupid? but not voluntarily so, just a fucked up portion of our survival instinct ironically killing us.
