A serious accident on BR-364, Km 437, towards Jangada, involving travel buses and a Honda Fit, last night (15), left two people dead. The crash was recorded around 8 pm and, at first, no one else was injured. The names of the victims have not yet been released.

Strong images released by witnesses show the passenger car completely destroyed. The travel bus had a badly damaged front.


According to information from Rota Oeste, the concessionaire for the stretch, rescue teams were at the scene and found the death of a Honda Fit driver with signs from Campo Grande (MS). The ride from the vehicle was sent to the Várzea Grande Emergency Room. A woman died too.


On the Volvo Marcopolo bus, with plates from Cuiabá, there were 35 passengers. None of them had injuries and all signed a medical refusal term.

The causes and type of accident will be investigated by the Civil Police.

According to information from the police officers of the Specialized Traffic Police (Deletran), it was verified in the vestiges of the occurrence that the bus driver traveled along the BR-364, in the direction Cuiabá-Jangada, when, at Km 439, the Honda FIT driver, who in the opposite direction, he overtook the curve, facing the bus.

As he was unable to return to his original lane, due to the line of trailers, he ended up causing the collision between the two vehicles. The driver of the passenger car was rescued and sent to the PSM in Várzea Grande by a SAMU team, but he arrived dead at the hospital. The passenger of the same vehicle was also helped to the PS, but also died hours later.

At the time of making the police report, none of the victims had been identified.

The bus driver performed an alcohol test applied by the PRF, with a negative result.
