Main story is a lunatic was bleeding in the area after a few reports from locals. Police were called and ended up in that stuation

On Monday, July 1, 2019, at approximately 12:45 PM, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Athens Clarke County Police Department (ACCPD) to investigate an officer involved shooting. Preliminary information indicates that 2 ACCPD officers responded to a scene after receiving a 911 call about a male, later identified as Aaron Hong, age 23, causing a disturbance with a butcher knife at the River Club Apartments on Macon Highway, Athens, GA. Hong was using the knife in an aggressive manner and appeared to be injured himself. When police made contact, Hong immediately confronted them and began to walk towards officers with the knife in hand.

During the incident, officers provided numerous verbal commands for Hong to drop the knife. Instead, Hong charged one of the officers with the knife and the officer fired his weapon multiple times, striking Hong. Hong managed to get back up and during the confrontation attempted to grab one of the officer’s weapons. The second officer fired at Hong multiple times, striking him. Nearby medics responded and Hong died at the scene. One officer sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene.

Don't understand how the 2nd officer got disarmed... wasn't even weapon drawn to start off

WTF ammunition are they using 9mm .40 Cal should have dropped that shithead the 1st set of shots fired.. mother fucker was on some serious adrenaline and endorphins

Were not in their situation, so all the different variables of the situation, controlled or uncontrolled are unknown

This video shows 2 things...1. a person can survive 7 rounds of .40 cal and still get back up. 2. these cops are either green or incompetent. if that was me, he would have been shot long before walking backwards a fucking mile...

You are a moron. Compare what videos side by side? No situation is exactly the same. And you see when the video begins how much space is between them. That's what gives the guy time.

Officers showed much more restraint than was necessary. I would have back up but my stopping point would have been the edge of the drive way and the road way. The officer reverted to bad training and bolstered his weapon after he fired.

Most officers are trained on the firing line to reholster after firing. The volly is fired then decock return to safe and re-holster. He reverted to this bad training under stress.
