I'm guessing they are making their sick little "movies" look all slick so that the people who watch aren't quite as likely to see the violence as totally real. Making it seem like a movie kind of dehumanizes the victims (because it doesn't feel real) and glorifies the killers. I think it's all strategy. I honestly don't see how terrorists recruit anyone with videos that show violent deaths and people pleading for their lives and screaming. Maybe it wasn't recruiting enough and they thought if they made it more like a movie people would be less likely to be horrified? I don't know. I dont understand how releasing execution videos does anything to get people to sympathize with your cause. Seems like a really dumb plan. But I guess ISIS is growing so it can't be that ineffective.

Because they are not trying to recruit day care workers; they are recruiting psychopaths. These days, anyone who wants to brutally murder someone can just call himself a Muslim/ISIS and immediately invoke the fear they so want to, as well as claiming to have a reason for their barbarism. Might as well call themselves the Beatles and claim to be Mormons, tbh; the gore is the means and the end, when all is said and done.

I understand your point, really I do, but I also don't think anyone DR viewers watch their videos and think, "Wow, that's awesome! I want to join them."

When I see their videos I think ISIS is a sad, pathetic, miserable bunch of ignorant idiots. They keep trying to force others to buy into their ideals yet end up looking like the bully on the playground who nobody wants to play with. They must have sad, desolate lives, trying desperately every day to instill fear in everyone, attacking other countries and spreading their hate, only to see those other countries unite.

At some point in the future ISIS will be gone. It will take a while but it will happen at some point. They will never understand that what they're doing is a fruitless endeavor, and for that and that alone I feel sorry for them. It's a lowly and wretched existence I'd not wish upon anyone.
