This happened on Feb 11 around 2:30 pm.
A 16-year-old high school student has been shot dead by her 18 year old boyfriend, allegedly for wanting to break up with him, in the yard of her school in Central Anatolian Aksaray province.

According to reports, the boyfriend had rented a car and drove to his girlfriend's school upon learning of her decision to end their relationship.

He demanded that they speak but she approached the walls of the school and started explaining her decision to the man, who remained outside of the school’s fences. After realizing she was determined to carry through with the break up, the boyfriend went back to his car, picked up his rifle and opened fire at the girl.

Reports indicated the girl collapsed immediately before he turned the weapon on himself and fired.
Police and medical teams were dispatched to the school after an appeal by teachers who had heard the gunshots.
While the young girl succumbed to her wounds in the schoolyard, the shooter was brought to Aksaray State Hospital and was reported to be in critical condition.
