Re: Wound Dehiscence 2 Weeks After My Appendectomy.
I had pilonidal cyst surgery years back and popped every stitch out while sleeping one night. Bloody mess to wake up to, but point of the story is that my dr had it just heal from the inside out and it actually is one of my better scars. So hopefully yours will heal up just fine. |

One of mine did this too, when I found the hole I was confused. I also popped an internal stitch on accident. I went a few days thinking I had had before I finally went to the ER. Turns out these are no joke. I was out for a month.

Re: Wound Dehiscence 2 Weeks After My Appendectomy.
I had the heads up as to what was going on, Had surgery on my left elbow year prior , was admitted to hospital with a post-op infection, doc took the sutures out and was left to heal on it's own, had to clean it twice daily.. can't close it back up or it doesn't heal properly etc. Main concern I had with this was that it was on my abdomen, Two things, one? Will I end up seeing an organ or intestine pop out? And 2..(the main one) Infection.. close to the liver among other important stuff.. Infection sets in and spreads? and does so fast? would be life threatening. But as stated before, seen the doc in a timely manner etc. Mine didn't take long to heal.. Cleaned it a few times daily. Kept it dry otherwise. Since it healed, find myself still scratching the site on occasion.. Sorry to hear yours had you out for a bit. It was still a bit much even for someone who knew what's going on, to look down and see what looks like a knife wound there..lol |
