I had mild acne well into my 30s when I stopped using lotions and skin moisturizers. That, and transitioning from traditional soaps and body washes to milder cleansers, cleared up my zits.

I was over-moisturizing and that was clogging my pores. But the need to moisturize came from soaps/detergents over-drying my skin.

So in my case, less was more when it came to getting my skin to act its age.
