Woman That Was Bitten in the Face by Her Pitbull She Rescued from Abusive Home
Illinois, Peoria. Karma Davis, 25, rescued a pitbull named Fayzo from an abusive home. She fed him, loved him and made him part of the family. For 4 years, he was her constant companion. On March 2, Karma forgot to take her epilepsy medication. She suffered a grand mal seizure in her kitchen and collapsed unconscious on the floor alone with her 3 young children. That's when Fayzo attacked. By the time she came around, both her lips were gone. A large portion of her left cheek, the bottom of her nose, and most of her left ear also had been torn away. An artery in her neck was nicked. Blood covered the kitchen tile. She didn't fully understand what had happened until she video-called her fiancé. When she saw her own face on screen, she kept repeating the same words: "Fayzo ate my face. I look like a skeleton. My lips are gone." Karma remained in hospital for around 10 days and now requires ongoing care, including regular visits to a plastic surgeon and support from home health nurses. She is currently fed through a G-tube as she can’t eat normally. Doctors are considering further options, including additional grafts to attempt to reconstruct her lips or a full lower-face transplant, which would require lifelong anti-rejection medication. Karma says: “My left ear is very disfigured and missing a decent amount of it, most of my left cheek is gone. “Both of my lips are gone, the bottom of my nose is gone and a small part of my right cheek was pulled back but they were able to reattach for the most part. “My right ear was partially pulled off but was able to be reattached. “I probably won’t be able to eat normally again.” Initial she was rushed to hospital, placed in a medically induced coma for nearly three days, and has since undergone multiple reconstructive surgeries including a skin graft taken from her leg. Doctors are weighing whether she may eventually need a full lower-face transplant. Fayzo was euthanized. Despite everything, Karma's outlook has been remarkable. "I'm glad to be alive," she says. "I can still see, I can still walk, I can still talk." |

People who keep Pit Bulls are fools. We just had a 65 year old lady, that had fostered 2 Pit Bulls for 2 years, be torn apart by them. I SURE would never let them near my child. I am sure they are wonderful. Until they tear your child into pieces. |

She had a pretty face before that happened. Now she fully resembles “The Abominable Dr. Phibes”

Re: Woman That Was Bitten in the Face by Her Pitbull She Rescued from Abusive Home
I have a scar on my face from a Pitbull bite. Very painful and bloody situation, was about 5-6 when it happened. Not nearly to this degree, but noticeable enough I get asked about it often. Hospital took their sweet time getting me admitted, that and the painful stitches I remember very vividly. |

Well, she is paying for her mistake. On the bright side, thank goodness one of her three little kids wasn't killed by that machine and he took it out on you. |
