Tooth Paste As a Burn Dressing

* A doctor from Malaysia published a photo of a woman’s hand who tried to treat a burn with toothpaste. By this, he wanted to show that you need to use proven treatment methods or seek professional medical help, and not try to treat caries on your hand.

She would still eat it because it has the word “paste” in the name.

Her fingernails are still prone to getting cavities though.

No ingredients of toothpaste lend themselves to effective burn care. Likely got it from five-minute crafts on Youtube.

Re: Tooth Paste As a Burn Dressing

I've heard people say put butter on burns I still just run cold water on a burn for about 5 minutes. I worked in a restaurant years ago and was making a huge pot of oatmeal for the residents upstairs and in a rush when the doors opened I grabbed both handles (one handle I forgot had been above gas flame from the burner beside cooking something else) and burned my whole palm and fingers. I had a huge blister that covered my whole palm which I popped and put a glove on to start serving. it took forever to heal and I'd wake up in so much pain at night I'd put my hand on the brick wall beside the bed to cool it down.
