Just been reading Joe Abercrombie’s excellent novel “Last argument of kings” from the first law trilogy and one specific scene in it reminded me very much of this beautiful classic torture. Still it saddens my heart that we never came to see the full footage with more fingers being chopped to mush and the eyes being gouged out.
