Re: Tapeworm Takes Over Sushi Lover’s Body
[QUOTE=Courtneyky;4409464]I agree. However, I did see this reported on a few different websites. Every tapeworm I've seen a REALLY LONG (sometimes feet long) and mostly FLAT. The tapeworms are usually located in stomach and intestines. If it is really bad they can completely block both. Over 10lbs have been removed from one person. I have never heard of small ones located all over like the X-rays show. I'm thinking it is either a different infestation or a different type of tapeworm.[/] Oh gosh this is a difficult one, you can become infected with cysts which usually form in the intermediate host of a parasitic life cycle, ingesting organs containing cysts or eggs instead of the gravid proglottid, however these are usually large to appear as one mass and contain many (thousands) of protoscoleces. This looks like nothing I have ever seen before :s some flukes reside in the vascular or lymphatic system (elephantiasis) but again doesn't look like this... I am defo going to ask one of my lecturers about this haha. |

Re: Tapeworm Takes Over Sushi Lover’s Body
Well, that makes much more sense to me now matchstix, and seriously, I appreciate the response friend. I was thinking that these just can't be tapeworms, tapeworms are long, thin and look a hell of a lot like TAPE! But I was obviously wrong, these are the tapeworm's larva. However, I still have one question if you care to answer friend? With all those larva crawling, and presumably eating, their way through and all over that guy's body. Could he really have not felt those things burrowing themselves into his muscles? With them moving literally all over his body like that, wouldn't you think he would've noticed something other than just "stomach pain"? |
