Strangely, those from the middle east make excellent doctors. Indians even more so. It's one of the most race-specific traits I've yet seen. Two of my anatomy professors are Indian, the other Nepalese. They tend to have an awful bedside manner but if you want it done right, have an Iranian or an Indian stitch you up. This was clearly an underequipped OR.
I won't deny their skill. It is the lack of equipment/supplies.
I've had my first surgery at age 9 by an Indian doctor.
Same doctor performed the same surgery on opposite side (hernia repair) 20 years later.
No complaints.

Somehow "Crocs" don't seem like appropriate operating room attire.
They are easily cleaned which is important. Quite many use them. Better then usual porous leather slippers. Can't get that blood out of them no matter what!
