Re: Staples or Stitches . . .

As far as looks goes, which do like? : )
I like the guy who kept his hair and got them down the middle!

Should look interesting when the hair grows back.

Also, the blonde girl who got hers right at the hairline.

It depends how you're injured though. You don't always get to choose.

Re: Staples or Stitches . . .

I've had both. Staples in my head and the drs sewed my ear back on after a car accident. Also staples in a huge laceration on my ass/hip/leg combo. The staples leave.a pretty cool scar, and they also itch a bit when being removed.

Yeah, put me down for neither, as well.

Eta: my Fucking ear hurt a full two years after that accident. It's a pretty tender spot to have all those stitches in, if I remember right, I think there were staples too. Due to the TBI, that five weeks in hospital is all kind of a blur.

I think most wounds itch when they start to heal. That's a good thing.

Does your ear look any different than, say, your average ear?

You got that right! I was comatose when I came In to trauma; didn't awaken for a week. So I had no choice at all, I owe that med staff my LIFE, though. Everyone I needed to keep me alive happened to be at the hospital that day, even the Neurosurgeon who stabilized my broken neck andwent on to fuse my neck four months later since it wasn't healing correctly on its own.
He saved me once, a d four months later, made it possible for me to regain mobility. I gotta say though. Wearing a
Neckbrace for five MONTHS. was a real pain in the ass...or rather, neck.

We're all a bit lopsided. Some more obvious than others. Shannen Doherty comes to mind.

I'm glad you're with us! Must have been Hell!

Re: Staples or Stitches . . .

I had staples in my gut, kept catching on my pants. I ended up taking them out myself.

Re: Staples or Stitches . . .

If I ever got a bad cut on my face, I would want staples just so I could look like a movie villain for a while. Then just normal, uglier me after they're removed.

I've only removed oral stitches myself.

They were coming loose anyway and trimming didn't work.
