Re: Some EMO Girl Needs Serious Help

And for someone to stay alive, to keep on living despite being in that pit, no matter what mechanisms they use be they cutting, drinking or writing,
That takes some pretty big balls, don't you think?
No, that "pit" is called life. Deal with it like everybody else.

-CUTTING IS NOT ATTENTION-WHORING.

Again, Cutting Is Not Attention Whoring.

One more time: Cutting is not attention whoring.

Once more for the type of person who says such bullshit:
cuting iznt attn whorin
You're right...it's called mentally ill.

When I used to cut, the person taking care of me would beat the shit out of me whenever they found a new cut, a razor or anything in my room. Like flat out throwing me into walls and shit, fists to the face, etc.
Good, since you like pain so much I'm glad they helped you out in that area.

My circle of friends back then made fun of cutters, saying the same shit I see posted here by assholes who are more a danger to others than a cutter ever would be. You'd think if it was just for attention I'd cut it out, right?
Wrong. I learned how to hide my shit better, used my chest and pubic area as a nice scratching post instead. All the while laughing with my friends about stupid emo cunts slashing themselves up for attention.
Hypocritical? Fuck yeah. But what better cover, to hide something so shameful because being sad is so wrong, right?
Yeah, you were a hypocrite, and a shitty friend because you were hiding the fact that you were some sad pussy from your friends that were actually dealing with life like normal people. You were the shitty friend, not them.

cutting is a sign of weakness
I'm a grown man, and so are the other two people I know who used to cut.
It is a sign of weakness...you are mentally weak, period. And chances are, even as a grown man you are still weak.

I've been about three years cut-free now thanks to finally getting the fuck out of where I used to live, getting my needs met and finding myself a supportive partner.
That's what we call "growing up".

Cutting's done to relieve pain for a little while, mostly. It's used to express what cannot be said, and more.
Normal teens used to use diaries for that.

Fact is, it's neither strong or weak. It's a survival mechanism. And to actually show one's cuts, to make a statement saying "I've been at this place that has hurt like a motherfucker" in this society that says that it's weak to cry or cut, IMO that takes some big brass balls.
The fact that you've tried to deny the fact that "cutting" is a sign of weakness 3 or 4 times in this post alone is just more proof that it is indeed weakness. It doesn't take brass balls to cut on yourself, in fact...it takes more balls to do things for other people.

It takes more balls to do things for others.

Re: Some EMO Girl Needs Serious Help

Prove to me that someone who does SI [self-injure] is completely incapable of contributing to society or helping others, and then I'll listen. That girl in the OP might work at a suicide hotline now and be recovered for all you know. Sharing one's story can help someone out there feel less alone, and can help spread awareness so people become more willing to help those who do SI.
That's just the thing; SI says nothing about someone's personality or lifestyle, just like drinking, smoking, playing video games, writing or other coping mechanisms say nothing about one's lifestyle, occupation, personality, ability to help others, etc. A self-harmer can be a businessman, a life coach, a parent or that cute girl who jogs down your block every morning.

Its not real complicated. It comes down to the mathematical reality of Time....

If you spend hours obsessing over yourself, how your gonna cut, what angle to take the selfies in the bathroom, plus the hours you spend blogging about cutting, well between that and binging and throwing up theres like , no mo' time left in da dey fo helpin out peeples..

Re: Some EMO Girl Needs Serious Help

Because someone can't possibly be doing that say, after/before work or on a weekend? It's not like someone just cuts 24/7 and that's literally all they do (unless they're a surgeon in which case yeah, that's their job).
In some cases of severe mental illness where the person cannot function then it is possible, but that is not so with every single case of SI as humans all come in a variety of flavors and personalities. I recommend spending some time conversing with a mental health professional, maybe joining a psych forum and asking around there if you don't want just my POV.
