Damn. I know people have said this to you before, but you are fortunate. It could have been worse, but I guarantee you wouldn't be the same kick ass person you are today without it happening to you.

Re: Sharon's Brain Haemorrhage When Aged 19

Shazza, Thanks for posting about your illness. I wrote on your other post about what happened to me a couple years ago while swimming in the surf. After my near drowning when I got out I had simular symptoms.
Mine were:
Sudden and severe headache (it lasted for for several weeks with diminishing severity. It would flare up if I bent over, got stressed out or even had an argument with someone.

Couldn't tolerate looking at daylight (photosensitivity)
Direct sunlight would bother me but I still felt I needed the sun on my skin to soothe my nerves. But bright lights bothered me and still do. And harsh sounds seemed way more intense and bothersome. That has gone away mostly but I am still more sensitive than I was before.

lethargy, disorientation, irritability.
I was more lethargic and and found it harder to focus. But mostly I was very irritable. I just wanted a quiet place to sit and relax. Read and relax and not do much. For hours.
Over time it gradually got better. Sleep really helped. The pain was localized in the left rear of my head and at times seemed like an icepick. When it first happened I just knelt on a large rock I had climbed out of the surf onto and felt and horrible pain there and a god aweful sickness in my stomach. 15 minutes later I got to my feet and made it to my van. Laid on the floor of my van for an hour before I could even change into street clothes. No insurance so I never went to the doctor.

Re: Sharon's Brain Haemorrhage When Aged 19

It's hard to bounce back from something like this, BUT, you're young and strong! I feel for ya, and I know you'll do great!

I was nine when I had convulsive vascular strokes. They, actually, killed me. Medical Science is stumped, till this day, as to why I'm alive! NO ONE TELLS ME I CAN'T DO SOMETHING. So, yea. I've been this stubborn throughout my entire life.
My left side was paralised after I awoke from my coma. It took me a little while, but since I'm stubborn, I refused to allow it to get the better of me.
DON'T EVER let anyone tell you that ANYTHING is impossible! I should be dead! Hell, my own granny lived four years on 1/4 of a heart, just because she had to help raise my little sister and me. She was convinced that we needed her.
Now, my father is terminally ill. He is diabetic, has IPF (terminal), A bad heart, his liver is really bad, and he has brain tumors and has had a few different types of cancer. NO! I'm not exaggerating. Wish I were! But, my father is STILL alive, despite every doctor he sees tells him that he's going to die and to get his affairs in order. He's lived 10 years past all their medical expectations!
So, you see, the human body might, sometimes be fragile, but the spirit it contains can sometimes be beyond tenacious!
It's like Mark Twain says - just read my Siggy-Quote!
I have faith in you!
