Yeah, I think the in case study for it (not the one I linked), they did, but in many places abortion is either illegal or forbidden by their religion (this fact is discussed in the case study I linked), so people basically just carry them to term and have to deal with giving birth to a kid with birth defects which is only going to survive a matter of hours. I read comments elsewhere from a woman born with a mild form of the same condition (she only had a cleft palate and some nerve issues, no hugely visible deformities or anything) who talked about having constant nightmares while being pregnant about this happening to her (though she had a normal baby), so I would imagine it could be greatly traumatic for the parents.
